This Lake is very well stocked with Carp to 10 lb, Bream and Tench to 4 lbs, as well as Roach, Rudd, Crucians, Barbel and Chub.

Open matches are held throughout the year on alternate Sundays, along with our popular Summer League evening matches held on Thursdays between May and August.

Although constructed with the match angler in mind, this Lake is also perfect for pleasure fishermen of all abilities.

There are 30 well spaced pegs and the Lake is available for Club or Group Match bookings.

Please note that No night fishing is allowed on this Lake

MILEMEAD FISHERIES ~ OPEN MATCH RULES

ALL COMPETITORS MUST FISH WITHIN THE FOLLOWING RULES

1) The Fishery Rules.

2) N.F.A. Match Rules - A copy of which can be inspected in the shop.

WITH THE ADDITION OF :

3) A minimum of two keepnets to be used, one for Carp and one for Silverfish - Defined as anything other than Carp. Maximum weight of 75 lbs in any one net - anything over this weight will not be counted.

4) A ll keepnets to be laid out on the bank for at least 30 minutes before fishing. No nets in the water until 15 minutes before a Match starts.

5) No surface / floating baits.

6) No fixed leads or feeders - A minimum hook length of 6” to be used.

7) No floating poles - A float must be used with at least 6” between the float and connector.

8) Halfway rules apply. Anglers fishing next to an empty peg may fish up to it, but not beyond it. You may only fish to an Island if on a designated Island peg - See Lake Plans.

9) All monies less peg fees (Sunday £6.00, Evening League£4.00) will be paid out as prizes based on the following :

9 Pegs or less - 1ST 60%, 2ND 40%
10 - 15 Pegs - 1ST 50%, 2ND 30%, 3RD 20%
16 - 20 Pegs - 1ST 40%, 2ND 30%, 3RD 20%, 4TH 10%
21+ Pegs ~ Top 3 + 2 SectionsS - 1ST 35%, 2ND 25%, 3RD 20%

10) Juniors may enter the Match paying only the Peg Fee at the discretion of the Management. They will not be eligible to win any prizes.

ANYONE CAUGHT BREAKING THE RULES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

THE MANAGEMENTS DECISION IS FINAL.

BARBEL AND CHUB
We are delighted to announce that we were granted permission by the Environment Agency to stock 1000 Barbel and 500 Chub into our Match Lake.

These fish were introduced at approx. 3’’-4’’on the
11th December 2008 and although only small they are sure to make a big impression as they grow quickly!

Update - Some Chub are now coming out at approx. 9’’ so have doubled in size over what was a very cold Winter.

FISHERY RULES

1) The Coarse Lakes are open from 7.00 am and closes at dusk.

2) All nets must be either dry or dipped in our disinfectant net dip before fishing.

3) Maximum of 2 rods per Angler on all Lakes.

4) Anglers must only fish from the numbered pegs.

5) No barbed hooks - We do check!

6) No fixed leads or feeders. Minimum hook length of 6 inches.

7) All fish must be returned quickly and carefully. Anglers must have and use a suitable landing net.

8) Keepnets are only permitted to be used on the Canal and in fishery approved Matches. No other use is allowed.

9 ) No artificial fake baits bigger than a single grain of sweet corn.

10) Floating baits can only be used if free lined ie. No bubble floats or controller floats.

11 ) Night fishing is only allowed on the Specimen Lake. Pre-booking is essential.

12 ) Under 16’s may only fish the Match lake if accompanied by an adult or if they hold a valid season ticket.

13 ) Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Please clean up after them.

14) No Litter. Anglers are responsible for the cleanliness of their peg. Please use the bins provided or take your litter home

Any infringement of these Rules may result in you being asked to leave the Fishery.
No refund will be given.......
